Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is the epitome of bespoke automotive luxury. As the brand evolved, it needed to shed a perception of being traditional or exclusive to a narrow audience. The goal was to build a digital presence that reflected its modern values and global appeal — especially to younger, tech-savvy high-net-worth buyers.
“Designing for Rolls-Royce means meeting the highest expectations. Our job was to bring modernity and warmth to a brand built on heritage, and we achieved that balance through clarity, tone, and interaction.”
— Matthew Rogers, Founder of Preux Software
The existing Rolls-Royce website was dated, rigid, and functioned as a static brochure. It lacked ecommerce, interactivity, and global relevance. The digital presence did not reflect the design excellence of the vehicles themselves.
Preux UX and UI designers led the redesign of the website experience during our tenure at Partners Andrews Aldridge, collaborating closely with the creative and brand teams.
The new site delivered a more modern, immersive digital experience and helped reposition Rolls-Royce as a brand both of heritage and innovation. Traffic surged during campaign periods, configurator engagement became a central part of buyer journeys, and editorial content improved time-on-site. The work laid the UX foundation now retained by AKQA (as of this writing) including navigation, configurator logic, and storytelling flows.
