Context

Al Arabiya is a leading news network broadcasting in Arabic, English, and Farsi to millions of daily users across the globe. Known for real-time news, live video, and international coverage, its digital platforms had fallen behind expectations. IBM selected Preux to lead a complete rebuild.

Problem

Al Arabiya’s digital presence was outdated, slow, and difficult to manage. It didn’t reflect the brand’s influence, global reach, or editorial depth.

  • Built a new brand identity including logo, typography, iconography, and colour systems.
  • Delivered a robust design system powering dozens of editorial formats and layouts.
  • Designed UX for live video, breaking news, journalist profiles, crisis coverage, and personalised content.
  • Engineered front-end systems in React/Redux, with Firebase, Redis, and REST APIs.
  • Supported iOS with native Swift and MVVM architecture. CI/CD and QA practices cut bugs and accelerated delivery.
